Interactive Sessions:
The virtual MDS-AOS Basic Science Summer School will include lectures on scientific topics from distinguished specialists in the field. Lectures will be supplemented with live interactive components so participants will be able to communicate and discuss topics with senior faculty and their peers. This includes live question and answer sessions connected to each lecture and multiple group panel discussions where faculty panels can share their insights in real-time.


  • Day 1: Saturday, August 7: 4:30 - 9:30 GMT (12:30 - 17:30 China Standard Time)

  • Day 2: Sunday, August 8: 4:30 - 8:45 GMT (12:30 - 16:45 China Standard Time)

Target Audience:
This course is intended for basic scientists, translational, and clinical researchers, clinicians, students, fellows, and post-docs interested in learning more about the clinical or translational research taking place in movement disorders.

Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity learners will be able to:

  • Describe updates in the pathogenesis and treatment of Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders.

  • Analyze recent advances in the basic neuroscience field, including electrophysiology and molecular biology, which could be applied in movement disorder research.

  • Establish a local and international network between young clinicians and researchers for facilitating future research in movement disorder field.

For the first time in its history, ACNS will offer the 2020 Fall Courses virtually, allowing both speakers and delegates from around the world to attend the courses online, without concern for health or travel.

The virtual Fall Courses will be offered October 15 - 18, 2020. An overview of the course schedule can be found on the Meetings section of the ACNS website.
